Home Education is becoming a popular alternative to the traditional academic environment. Whether parents choose to follow the national school curriculum or an alternative programme, home education has multiple advantages. Here is a non-exhaustive list of reasons as to why choosing SHL can be a great option for your child.
As mentioned above, one of the greatest benefits of this method is flexibility. The child is given the choice to study at a time and pace that better suits them. Whenever the child loses focus, switching to another activity or subject and taking regular breaks becomes possible.
SHL offers students an individualised educational session in contrast with the traditional system where they must share the teacher’s time with many other students. Here, the educator can easily track the student’s progress and adapt the pace of learning. Moreover, whenever the right amount of attention and support is provided to the child, it usually helps them to get through the programme faster, therefore allowing more free time for other activities. As a matter of fact, sitting for long hours at school has not been demonstrated to significantly increase proficiency. On the contrary, students tend to lose focus and motivation after a long period of concentration.

How does it work?
SHL can assist your child from grade K up to grade 7-8. Parents can either choose a French or an English curriculum (e. g. CNED) to register their child. Then the school material will be provided to SHL who will ensure the child is following their programme efficiently, reaching their targets within the required timeframe and being prepared for exams.
SHL has additional educational material recognised by the French National Education system that can be put at your child’s disposal to assist them and strengthen their knowledge in all the different subjects.
There will be a session in the morning and one in the afternoon. Classes will be run in small groups of up to three children.
